Steve Chettle and Kieran Preston have their say on our 1-1 draw with Warrington

Basford United Steve Chettle boss praised his side after their 1-1 draw with Warrrington Town.

Courey Grantham’s second half header cancelled out Jack Dunn’s first half striker as Basford came from behind to earn a point.

And Chettle was pleased with what he saw.

“We’ve got our just deserts really,” said the manager. “The system and game plan we had worked so we’re really happy.

“We rode our luck in the first half but second half we were really good. Sometime you have to play ugly and we did change how we played against another good side.

“They were at home and we knew that they would dominated at times. We had to be resilient and we did that. Other than a great save from Kieran and the goal they haven’t had too many chances because we’ve defended well.

“And we fully deserved a point.”

Goalkeeper Preston, who was voted man of the match, believed his side did well to earn a point.

“ I thought we rode the storm in the first half,” he said. “When you play teams like Warrington you know you’ll have to do that for half an hour to 45 minutes.

“In the second half we showed how good we are and we’ve got ourselves back into the game
