Speaking ahead of the game he said: “We finish our pre-season against Hednesford tomorrow before we plan for our opening game of the season at home to Warrington next Saturday.

“ It has been a frustrating pre-season with lots of little niggles for a lot of our players but everyone is available for selection tomorrow minus Marcus who is nursing a hamstring injury. We will use this weekend to get more minutes for Kane Richards who is still on the comeback trail from a long standing groin injury.

“ Hopefully the game gives us the chance to keep progressing like in the last two games against Alfreton and Forest where our performance and energy.”
