The lively forward came through the ranks at Notts County where he made three senior apparencies after leading the goalscoring charts for the U18s, including a league cup debut against Middlesborough in 2018.

Whilst there, he had a spell on loan at Grantham Town before moving to Lincolnshire permanently after his release from Meadow Lane in 2020.

He eventually moved to Ilkeston a year later and scored over 30 times in total for the Robins, including both goals against United in the two Southern League fixtures last season.

Campbell will likely be available for selection for Saturday’s trip to Shepshed Dynamo, our second pre-season friendly of the summer (3pm).

On the move, Manager Steve Kittrick said: "Rem is a powerful forward with an eye for goal and we're delighted he's joined ahead of the new season.

"He scored both goals against us last season, including a penalty in our win over Ilkeston, but he was a handful all afternoon that day, even when he was out of his natural position - he was someone who impressed us all afternoon that day.

"He will had strength to our front line, as well as brute force and pace - we're really looking forward to working with him."

Chairman Chris Munroe said: “I’m delighted to have finally got Rem to sign for Basford.

“Having seen him train daily with Notts County during their tenancy at Greenwich Avenue a few years ago, his talent was clear, and we should have signed him then on his surprise release.

“However we've eventually got our man and we, as a club, are happy with the business.”
