Martin tendered his resignation on Sunday to Owner Chris Munroe which was rejected, and Martin was asked to take a few days to think this through over the Christmas period. Martin confirmed on Christmas Eve he wished to stick to his original decisions. The club owner, whilst disappointed accepted & respects Martin's ultimate decision and wish him all the very best going forward and hope he finds the right balance in his life after what has been a tough personal year for Martin. Everyone at the club thank Martin for his efforts & commitment to Basford United FC.

With the busy Christmas schedule and FA Trophy tie a week Saturday, then the Owner and club will solidify the Management immediately from within and will make further statement later today.
