Will Longbottom's first half brace sealed the points for Guiseley on wet Tuesday night against a walking wounded Basford side.
The visitors started the game on the front foot winning a free kick just outside the Ambers box in the opening minutes however it was hit straight into the wall and the rebound sailed over the bar!
The game started to settle down following the early set piece with both teams trying to get a hold of the ball in what was an end-to-end game! Josh Barnes' free kick around 25 yards out landed straight into the hands of Joe Cracknall before good work on the right from Kacy and Tyrell eventually saw Kane take aim from 30 yards. His curling effort was destined for the top corner but a Guiseley defender did well to take the sting out of the shot and the ball lands safely in Cracknall's arms.
Guiseley took the lead on 37 minutes when John Lufudu's cross trickled over the line after the faintest of touches from Will Longbottom. Longbottom then got his second on 45 minutes when he was sent in behind and he finished one-on-one with Deeney.
Prince Ekpolo nearly made it three for the visitors at the start of the second half but Saul pulled off a remarkable save to deny the lions midfielder.
Prince Mancinelli nearly clawed one back for the Ambers but his long range effort whistled just wide of the top corner! Joe Uveges also had an effort deflected behind for a corner in what was a much improved second half from a young Basford side.
Nelson Aideyan can close in the final stages of the game but his Bicycle kick attempt went just over. The game finished with Guiseley taking the points back to West Yorkshire but it was a performance that the team can build on following the amount of injuries to key players in the previous game.
